TAX REBATE INFORMATION

Tax Rebate: When making purchases while visiting Canada the receipts will usually show two sales taxes that are charged. The first one is known as PST, or Ontario Provincial Sales Tax. For the accomodation industry, the rate is 5% tax and is not refundable to visitors for the purpose of tourism.

The second one is GST, otherwise known as the Goods and Services Tax. This is a federal tax of 5%.

Therefore total taxes applied is 10%.

Glen Mhor is a registered business and is required to charge GST; however, you may be able to receive a refund.

Non-residents of Canada, subject to certain provisions, may get the GST refunded by the federal government.

Please review Revenue Canada's website at:

To print out the Visitor Refund application form, please download the following:

Send in your form and original receipts from Glen Mhor (and other purchases, such as souvenirs, See site) to Revenue Canada for rebate.
